Tyler Flanders: Artist/Painter

Tyler J. Flanders, born 1988, is an American artist raised in Pomona/Inland Empire of Southern California. Inspired by art in freeways and museums, he began to develop his own style—industrial; synthetic realism. Street art spoke to Tyler at very early age; it’s where escape with multi-mediums and creative expression became a comfortable asylum versus some of the dark avenues of life. The level of determination and consistency are clear within the explicit nature of Tyler’s art.

In mid 2018, the Artery made an agreement with Tyler in hosting his very first art exhibit—if a series of paintings for that show could be completely created from scratch. So we began building 5’x3.5’ frames and stretched 6 canvases in the studio. While Tyler painted, we built easels from scratch to support each canvas for display during The Brewery Artwalk.
